Mildred Long Ewen memoir, 2005.

Ewen, a 1946 graduate of the University of Kentucky, describes the atmosphere at the university during World War II, including daily student activities and the mood on campus. She focuses on the Kentucky Kernel, the weekly student newspaper, which had a female staff during the war years. Ewen worked for the Kernel and was editor in 1945-46. Includes photocopied article from the Louisville Courier-Journal, October 1944, regarding the Kernel's female staff.
